Many times I read a proverb a day, since there are 31, perfect to finish them in a month. Well, today a verse caught my attention, verse 24 -
"A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?"
It's like Proverbs 19:11 - "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." We are by no means puppets. God has given us our own free will. Nevertheless, He is sovereign. He knows us intimately and knows how to use our personality and character to accomplish His divine purposes.
So, we can continue to make our plans, with such understanding as we may have, but seeking the will of God and trusting in Him through whatever may happen, even as Joseph son of Jacob trusted in Him - although he found himself a slave and then a prisoner. His faith enabled him to escape bitterness towards his brothers, knowing that God Himself was directing his steps. So, there's nothing to fear!
